BIC BLOG 3.23.24

Well its certainly been a few weeks since my BIC IS BACK BLOG! As I put these thoughts to digital paper, we are in SAINTinLA Studio, which Rozon and I have been burning the candle 3-4 days per week since. He is putting the final touches on the the drum tracks that we recorded with Dirk last weekend.

It is a great feeling to know have 98% of the pieces to this puzzle! As we listen, I am sure we will find space for some guitar texture bits, or some odd percussion. I have also been semi-relentless in my desire to bring in a viola player that I heard Rozon recording here on another project he was working on…. just to enhance or counter some of the guitar textures that abound. We’ll see, as everything is starting to come into sharp focus!

I had mentioned the V-word in the last blog, and some truth be told… we filmed the first one on Monday. Details are indeed sketchy, but the filming was completed! We did film this earlier than I normally would have, but with the unsaid singer in town, we took advantage. There are some set-in-stone dates and locations for three additional shoots, over the next 2 1/2 months. I am not quite sure of the release order, as the mixing, mastering and all of the other tasks that go along with bringing this album out requires.

The cover paintings I had also mentioned in the previous blog have arrived safely and are in the process of being digitally replicated which will allow us to focus on designing the vinyl and CD art. Honestly I am still not 100% certain on the running-order, and have done a bit of juggling in my mind. I am set on the opening and closing tracks… it’s just adjusting and readjusting the track flow in-between as I hear the songs now in their near complete state. I am sure this will drive Rozon a bit crazy, as this juggle sometimes requires changing the order of the Halo interlude sections. Ooops :)

Short and sweet today… be safe be kind…
