MONDAY Q&A 11/8/21

Q: It makes me sad to see you break guitars in your videos. Why do you do this?

A: Hey … your forgot set them ablaze and drench in rain!!! Seriously … I would NEVER smash a playable guitar. Never. I worked all summer when I was a teenage to buy my first guitar so I do know the value. Guitar abuse in BIC videos are simply theatrics that add a bit of ‘chaos’. Working at a guitar company gives me access to total reject, unplayable instruments. Broken truss rods, cracked necks among other extreme defects. Things that don’t matter on film, but make the instrument unusable. I even recycle them … the guitar that was burned in the original ‘A Kind Cruelty video was smashed in the ‘remix’ video. The drenched guitar from ‘Un-Natural Disaster’ was passed on to a friend of my daughter , Janna Jamison, to use in her video that she filmed underwater in our pool! Again, I can’t stress enough that if it was playable, I would sure as hell give it to someone in need before I would destroy. I also give all of the usable parts (pickups, bridge, tuners) to any one here at Schecter that can use them. No matter … I guess I run the risk of being painted in a negative light by doing this….
