BIC BLOG 10/23/21

This week was filled with two of my happiest places on earth …. Disneyland with my family and late nights in SAINTinLA Studio with Mr. Rozon!

Our next single, “The Kiss Of The World” is back, jacked and packed from our friends at Becker Mastering. This song, which features the statuesque powerhouse that is Elena Alice Fossi. This track’s accompanying dystopian inspired video will premiere on 12.2.21. The song and video should prove to be epic. If you have not checked out Ms. Fossi’s Kirlian Camera and their numerous offshoot projects, you should.

Rozon and I have been amping up our studio time to get ‘Behind The Veil’ completed on schedule. He has signed on to co-produce the next Ministry album with Al Jourgensen which will start mid-November. Hey, what’s a bit more pressure!!! We got the third song, “Not Your Fault”, 95% mixed last night, We will put this one on the back-burner for now, to allow us to turn our attention to “Afterlife”, which will feature my lovely wife Tish Ciravolo. BIC Family will know her from “Look Up”, which appeared on our debut release - ‘finding beauty in chaos’. This dream-like track may just be our third video.

Whitney Tai and I did a nice interview with the mighty ReGen Magazine, talking our “Orion” video and lots more. The full interview should be up later today! A big shout out to Ilker Yucel for all he does with ReGen!

Q: What about the collaborative process do you find most invigorating?

A:I think it is the element of surprise and anticipation.  We complete a music track, and I sort of imagine in my head a singer’s voice and lyrical stylings as part of it.  Then comes the wait … and the anticipation as to where the music we created will guide them.  I have described it before as being like ‘Christmas morning’.  Getting a text from an artist saying to check my inbox for what is now a song.  That is a real cool moment to hear it for the first time!  On the first two studio albums (‘finding beauty in chaos’ and ‘the storm before the calm’), I think the music tracks that we sent to the artists where probably 95% ‘finished’ as far as the music and the arrangements.  For these new songs, which will culminate into ‘Behind The Veil”, we purposely left a bit more ‘space’ in the music tracks.  I think this possibly guided the singers a bit less…, which also allowed Michael and I to be inspired and directed a bit by what each singer did.” … Michael Ciravolo

An extended version of “Orion” will certainly be included on our upcoming release, but for those who can’t wait or want to ‘be Whitney’ and sing over the included instrumental version, you can get the deluxe digital single HERE.
